This year once again we are expecting dignitaries from the Grand Lodge as our guests. The dress code for the evening will therefore be Jacket and Tie.
Strictly – No Trainers, Jeans or Polo shirts.
When receiving your Trophies, would you please ensure that you are wearing your jacket.
You do not need a Handicap Certificates (HC) to participate in this tournament but you need it if you are likely to return with a winnable score for individual and team prizes.
Our recommendations are that if you have a HC from a Golf Club or a recognised Golf Society, please bring it with you and keep it in your golf bag.
The maximum handicap allowed in this competition is 24 and you will play ¾ of this or your Club or Society Handicap.
In the case of The Great East India Golf Society, Caregolf Society, Sikh Golf Society, Sahara Golf Society and members of the Batchworth Park Golf Club, your Handicaps will be verified prior to the event and you, therefore, do not need to bring the HCs with you.
The winnable scores in 2009 were as follows:-
| Longcross | Bernard Hunt | |
| Score (HC) | Score (HC) | |
| Winner | 36 (7) | 36 (1) |
| Runner-up | 36 (8) | 33 (2) |
| Third place | 36 (14) | 33 (12) |
In view of the above the Committee has decided that you will only need to produce your HC if you return with 30 or more Stableford points at the end of your game. You must if you have 30 + points produce your HC (unless already verified) – as we will not be able to rely on your friends to verify your handicap or call your golf club for such matter.
No HC – No Prize.
WHERE THE SCORES ARE TIE: COUNT DOES NOT APPLY
With a such a large number of players participating in the event, it has been decided by the Committee that where there are more than one player with the same score, the player with the lowest handicap will be awarded the first trophy and the runner up with the next lowest handicap.
This is the policy followed by The Nkokonjeru Masters Cup Committee for administration reasons.
In 2009 the team scores were as follows:-
| Winners: | 120 |
| Runner Ups | 115 |
Please note that all players must produce their HC to qualify for the Team Trophies. If you feel that your Team could be in contention, and your individual score is below 30, you may still hand in your HC with your Scorecard at the Score Card Desk.
Both courses at Foxhills are Championship Courses. Therefore in the opinion of the Course Director at Foxhills, it is unlikely that a player will return with a score of 40 or plus, particularly when you are playing ¾ of your real normal handicap.
If anyone returns with such a score, it will be passed to the Course Director for his observation. Please note that his decision will be final.
It will be a Stableford competition and the prizes will be as follows:-
| Winner | on each course |
| Runner Ups | on each course |
| Third Place | on each course |
There will be several Nearest to the Pin and Reach the Green competitions and one Longest Drive on each course.
In 2009 the Best Player Trophy was awarded to Ajay Ahluwalia who won with 39 points playing off 12
It is right for us to acknowledge that Mr Ravi Sandhu, with a Handicap of 3 has won this competition in 2006, 2007,2008 and in 2009 he was the runner up for an Individual trophy . In 2008, he won it with 38 points.
The players will be teeing off both from the 1st and the 10th tee on both courses at an interval of 10 minutes. Foxhills official starters would like to see you at the Tee 10 minutes before your Tee off time.
Whilst waiting to Tee off, please ensure that you switch off your mobiles for the duration of the game and exchange the score cards.
Please note that if you are late at the Tee off, the remaining players will tee off without you. Foxhills Officials will not be able to re-arrange your game with another group.
In other words, if you are not there in time you will miss your game.
The players are paired according to their handicaps. Lowest handicappers will lead the field with the highest handicappers towards the back. In 2008 and 2009 the system worked so well to the extent that the last group returned 10 minutes earlier than the time allocated.
The schedule of players and the Tee Off times will be issued one month before the event.
If you are entertaining your clients and friends and do not wish to be paired with anyone else, you may play together, but you will be excluded from the competition side of the event. Please note that in any event you will be seated together in the evening for dinner.
The time allocated to complete the round is 4 hours and 45 minutes and there would be some unexpected delays on some holes. Please ensure the following:-
- You must keep up with the Team in the front.
- If you are unable to score on a particular Hole, please pick up your ball and assist others.
- If you are slow and well behind, Foxhills Marshall will force you to skip the Hole.
In 2009 the Halfway House was provided by V5 from Eastcote renowned caterers which many proclaimed to be the highlight of the Event. Although all parts of the event was equally good but we will now expand on this concept of outside caterers.
In 2010 we propose to have Nkokonjeru Champaign Bar with the Halfway House.
It is absolutely essential that if you are in contention, that your scores are properly calculated and signed by both the player and the marker. Incomplete score cards will automatically be disallowed when entering the scores for presentation purposes.
All score cards must be handed in at the Score Card Desk before you go for your showers but no later than 6.30 pm.
Foxhills have fantastic shower facilities but we are aware that last year some golfers towards the end had to cope with cold showers. Our apologies. Please note that this problem has been resolved.
We will use both the Members and the Visitors facilities. Towels are provided but you may wish to bring your own. If you are to use Foxhills towels, please ensure that they are left in the washing baskets after use.
The post game reception will be held on the terraces of the 19th Hole of the Clubhouse. This reception was enjoyed by over 200 people last year in a beautiful autumn sun. Let us hope that the weather plays its part again.
It is anticipated that this year we will provide Indian melodies as a background during the reception time.
Please note that those returning to the 18th Green around 4 pm onwards may find that it was the music which got your 40 foot putt.
The dinner will be served at approximately 6.45 pm. Last year we were able to conclude our dinner and the proceedings by 9.15 pm.
Our in house bar will remain open till 10.30 pm – so please do not rush out. It will be nice to relax with you.
